Recovering From Surgery Naturally

Recovering From Surgery at ISISSurgery is something that everyone faces at one point or another, whether required, recommended or requested.  Regardless of the surgery, there is one thing that all surgeries have in common.  They require recuperation, rest and recovery... the three R's.  Without them, you may face side-effects, loss of function or secondary procedures.  We have an amazing program of recovery for everyone facing surgery, which hundreds of our clients have utlized in their post-surgical process.

Reiki Energetic Healing - this is a non-invasive and non-manipulative therapy that utilizes the energy of the therapist to balance and relax your body's energy, allowing healing to take place.  Surgery is a traumatic event, and the energy of the body will be unbalanced as a result.  This gentle relaxing healing time can do wonders to reduce pain, restore energy and normalize sleep patterns all without interfering with stitches, dressings or other post-surgical restrictions.  Recommended immediately after surgery for the first few weeks.

ISIS Chromalight TherapyChromalight Therapy - utilized in Europe minutes after surgery, this completely non-invasive therapy can reduce swelling, decrease scarring and reduce pain.  There is nothing more effective in the first few days after surgery.  Recommended immediately after surgery for the first two weeks.

FAR Infrared Sauna - the amazing thing about Infrared light instead of steam is that you are not just clearing the residue of anesthesia and other toxins from your body, but Infrared light is antibacterial protecting the body from infection after surgery.  It also helps to reduce scarring and increases the metabolism of the skin which means faster healing and higher degrees of flexibility of the skin and underlying tissues.  Recommended one week after surgery throughout the healing process.

Massage After Surgery at ISISMassage Therapy - massage is still the primary therapy of choice to relax tissues, help to reduce stress and anxiety and to increase blood flow for comprehensive physical therapy after surgery.  Recommended four weeks after surgery throughout the healing process.

Nutritional Convalescence - after surgery, supporting your body nutritionally is essential and often you may not feel like eating or may not be able to eat.  We provide our clients with SP Complete which is a wonderful complete nutritional powder that can be mixed into juice, milk, water, yogurt or a smoothie and will give you everything your body needs.  Then as soon as your doctor feels it is appropriate you can add healing herbs to get you up on your feet   Gotu Kola is the general healing herb for all organ distress within the body.  Echinacea Purpurea and Echinacea Angustifolia will help to modulate the function and action of the immune system and prevent autoimmune issues from developing.  Nettle Leaf has the highest level of minerals within the herb world, but also has a mild diuretic effect.  I suggest a great blood-building tonic that I blend for my patients of Codonopsis, Nettle Leaf, Ashwaganda, Licorice and Ginger with iron and vitamins added from food.  This will prevent post-operative anemia.  Supporting the adrenals and liver again are great, so I suggest recommencing my pre-operative tonic for at least one month following surgery.

The last thing to remember is the importance of doing absolutely nothing.  That's right... the concept of convalescence is essential to prevent autoimmune reactions, reduce stress hormone levels and to potentiate the effectiveness of post-surgical medication.  Bed rest, sleep, naps, snoozes.. get the picture?   Incorporating natural options for your recovery will ensure amazing surgical results!
