Meridian Stress Assessment

Meridian Stress Assessment at ISISWelcome to the newest addition to our clinic's health options ... Meridian Stress Assessment.  This is a comprehensive electrical conduction test that is based on the research and practice of Dr. Reinhold Voll, a German medical doctor in the 1950's. Dr. Voll found that he could measure the electrical conduction through particular points on the skin that correlated to Chinese Acupuncture points and that these points would have a different conduction rate than adjacent tissues.  He also clinically proved that people with particular diseases would have the same weakened measurements in the same points.  This enabled him to map out the relationship between each point and corresponding organs, glands and body systems. This also meant that disease would manifest as certain point weaknesses that could be evaluated from one individual to another. This idea of electro-evaluation has now been utilized for more than 50 years.

Meridian Acupoints at ISISFor centuries, acupuncture points not only were shown to carry electrical information in differing ways to other areas of the body, but they appeared to be windows through which this information could be accessed and understood.  It was possible through these points to derive data as to the function and health of specific organs and body systems. The points on the hands and feet are especially useful in providing access to the dynamic status of the internal body systems.

These points are located within the water-rich areas of the skin's connective tissue, so hydration is an important factor in having an accurate test.  Using the hands and feet, this painless test introduces a low voltage electrical charge through the acupuncture points then measures the level of electrical current that is conducted through each point.  In this way, an accurate evaluation can be developed by comparing these electrical readings to the average that is generally accepted as healthy for each specific point.

Over the past 35 years, there have been a number of clinical studies and trials using Meridian Stress Assessment.  One in 1989, was published in the American Journal of Clinical Pathology and found that accepted medical allergy testing produced virtually the same information regarding allergens as the Meridian Stress Assessment.  In fact, the percentage of identical results was 73%.

Preparation:

Meridian Stress Assessment TestPlease be sure to avoid wearing perfumes, fragranced products, lotions or scented skin products as these may interfere with appropriate measurement of the electrical conduction.  In addition, you want to be well-hydrated.  Finally should you be taking antihistamines, corticosteroids or other immune-suppression drugs, your test results may not be as accurate, so we recommend having more than one test and relying on a comprehensive evaluation instead of the results of just one test.
