Heel Inc. was founded in 1978 by H-H Reckeweg, a well-known originator of homeopathic formulas. Dr. Reckeweg began to combine remedies while practicing homeopathic medicine in Germany in the 1930’s. He devised individualized combinations for particular patients which he then had mass-produced for other doctors to use. This was the beginning of Heel GmbH, the world’s largest manufacturer of complex homeopathic preparations, still located in Baden-Baden, Germany on the edge of Black Forest.
When he relocated to the U.S. he named his new enterprise BHI (Biological Homeopathic Industries) and set to work creating new and improved homeopathic formulas. Now known as Heel Inc., the products of BHI and Heel are continuously produced and distributed to retailer and practitioner throughout North America and beyond.
Homeopathic remedies work by stimulating the body’s own defense system into action. Their action can be compared to inserting a key into the lock of the body’s inherent defenses.
